You might be wondering about the name, so let me explain, Sinsemilla De Ma means "Without seeds" (Sinsemilla) in Spanish and De (Ma) in Cantonese was used to describe medical marijuana (麻; pinyin: má). The name represents both of my cultures, which is important to me as I am Dominican and Chinese.
Meet the Founder - Winde Bertran
A Latinx and Asian American. I am a wife, mother, grandmother and a Registered Nurse by trade. I have worked alongside both integrative (holistic) and allopathic (conventional) providers for over 25+ years. In my first five years, when I worked in Family Practice, I was formally introduced to Integrative Medicine by Physicians who had their own Apothecary closet. It was there that I learned much about the benefits of Adaptogens (roots, herbs, and extracts) and how they're used to compliment conventional medications. With that knowledge I continued to always incorporate a wholistic view while caring for clients, throughout my many specialties.
Like many of us, 2020 changed everything, and for me it was very personal. I contracted Covid19 and Covid Pneumonia at the height of the pandemic and faced hospitalization on two separate occasions. Fortunately, after 10 weeks of enduring through its multiple symptoms, I was able to recover. I was, however, left with what is now called Long Covid. Luckily, a year earlier, a co-worker, knowing my allergy to most opioid's, introduced me to a CBD product that would help with some of my pain symptoms, both then and now.
Being an R.N., with cannabis stigma prevailing, I decided to do my own evidence based research. So, I started a Cannabis Healthcare & Medicine Certification course at St. Joseph's University, it was then that I was reminded of my love of holistic remedies, and it was also then that I decided to create "wholistic" CBD recipes that could, not only help myself (which they have), but so many others like me, in an attempt at caring for the "whole" person. Since then I've continued taking certificate courses at NYU, Cornell ILR, and have completed my Certified Cannabis Nurse program all to ensure my continued knowledge and ability to decrease the stigma associated with canabis for both Medicinal and Adult Use!
I know that CBD and THC, aka Phytocannabinoids, have been available for some time, but my personal experience with CBD and the benefits of all herbs, extracts, oils and other vitamins and nutrients that I and most everyone in this world have used, it encouraged me to incorporate them into my products. Sin 420 CBD uses only the best organic CBD hemp and cleanly sourced herbs to make their goods. Based on factors such as absorption capacity, historical benefits, and synergistic interactions with other herbs, is how we carefully choose each ingredient.
My goals are to Educate, regarding our Endocannabinoid System and how the Phyto-cannabinoids, both CBD & THC, help sustain the balance within our multiple systems, and, to ease the anxieties that plague our society from the stigma that's been associated with both Cannabis Hemp/CBD & THC. Again, my hope is that the mixtures of these adaptogens can help assist in subsiding or elevating one's own senses.
Through this goal I've overseen these products from inception to completion, manufactured in an FDA Regulated Lab, along with third party testing, in the hopes that they may help to incorporate health and wellness into as many lives as possible.
